More Floating Heads

Scrooge McDuck

Here is a 3d model I created based on a sculpture I bought. I thought the original sculptor really captured the Disney character design well, which isn't easy to do. The early disney characters were in many ways created only for a 2d representation, so to translate that design into three dimensions isn't an easy task. Look at all the Mickey Dolls or CG Mickey's out there and there is always something thats just a bit off.

I learned a lot modeling Uncle Scrooge. There is one HUGE trick I picked up on this model, I'll try to post up a mini-tutorial soon explaining it so more of you can utilize it.

How many birthdays now?

I just did this to see if I could make Mickey look old. He still looks quite spry, so old age hasn't seemed to have gotten him down. Done with good ol' Col-erase blue pencil on some handy hole-punched paper.

Einstein

This is a young Einstein. I drew it entirely from my mind without looking at any pictures so it is a bit off from what he actually looked like and has more cartoony proportions… but I like it for those reasons.
