The Shooting of Dan McGoo (1944)

Directed by:
Tex Avery

Animated by:
Ed Love
Ray Abrams
Preston Blair

The Shooting of Dan McGoo short can be found on Tex Avery's Droopy: Theatrical Collection dvd set

Although the animators here certainly know their construction, I'm posting this one up more so to show all the extreme takes Tex Avery would put into his cartoons. His cartoons are almost packed full of just extremes, hardly allowing any time between them. He was relentless in telling jokes visually. Tex Avery, more than anybody, knew how to take advantage of the limitless opportunities animation provided.
